Container Gardening

I believe we have the best weather in Souther California. It's 88 degrees today, in the middle of January. It's making my plants grow quite nicely.

I've harvested these salad greens a few times already. Nothing gets fresher than food from your own backyard.  Grow your salad mix in intervals so you'll always have something to eat.  

Carrots, I'm so excited. 

Spinach. These are planted to closely together. I may have to thin them later. 

Kale! I love kale. It's super food. 

Growing Food from Scrap

I recently discover that you can grow food from kitchen scraps and I wanted to try for fun. 

This is celery. 

Keep it in water, I only take it out for comparison purposes. 

I think this is about a week later. 

I planted  it in a 6 inch pot. But, before I did, I peel off a few outside layers. It's looking pretty good.
